Morphine is based on a short story of the same name by the Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov. I come to the studio and slip into kind of madness. I try not to repeat myself or copy the movements created by other choreographers. If I find myself making the movements that I borrowed from the choreography that I have danced, I stop and tell my dancers: “Guys, forget it. It’s not mine.”

Blind Affair is a ballet about the society, where all are absorbed in their gadgets and nobody ever looks around. We live in our personal boxes and are sure that they include the whole world. It is not the case. I want to stir up the crowd. I have always wanted to, that is why I travelled a lot and danced a lot. And I will go on this way till I am 120 years old. Just to keep telling people: “Look around and say „Life is beautiful!„“

Love is all around
To Tragedy "white crow", a stranger among his, and in fact, the new version of "The Idiot", refers to the choreographic work "Love is everywhere" Honored Artist of Russia, Ivan Vasiliev. This sociological ballet to Stravinsky's music involved the heroes-functions: nurses, lzhevrachi, administrators, supervisors and patients zombies, blurs the line between mental hospital and a concentration camp.
Involuntarily there is a parallel with the cult film-drama Milos Forman's "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", where patients "yellow house" is also faced with a challenge: how to be a man and to save a person, and not turn into a plant is deprived of feelings, emotions, indistinguishable from the other. The image of the protagonist recalls the Roman god Pan (Pan), one of the qualities which had the gift of prophecy, predicting the future, but also the embodiment of a nightmare, panic. But fear does not come from him, but from his fellow inmates: the victims turned into executioners, Sonderkommando become crazy, heartless blind blind sighted and loving.
The world of the protagonist Ivan Vasiliev appears one large Chamber №6, where only one solution - to the light. Gentle and uplifting feeling of the hero and his lover in the eyes of others becomes an aggravating factor - physical violence does not make coming. Heroes are fleeing from the "yellow house", their new life - this is an allusion to the theme of paradise, resurrection, immortality and eternal love.
This is it - the modern world through the eyes of choreographer Vasileva: space total absurdity, unmotivated cruelty, jealousy, meanness, over-organization of people to automatism, a permanent escape from themselves and from their own kind, as well as freedom at the cost of his own life.
The performance was very personal: in one of the last scenes of the hero, collecting luggage, grabs the picture and the audience suddenly find in the subject of "Golden Mask" - the cherished "icon" for each artist. Prime Mikhailovsky Theatre Ivan Vasiliev in an instant transforms the show in an autobiography: in fact, just a few years ago, he left the main stage of the country to aspire to "creative freedom".
And how else can you escape from the world of theater of the absurd, when the vanguard of Russian ballet Mercury and Vasiliev have to do at a party, learn other people's sites, to carry out their performances on the road, while the native scene until recently was responsible indifference to them and to their "The Scream".
