Milos Mihajlovic (Piano)

• Prize-winner at the Jeunesses Musicales International Young Musicians’ Competition (Belgrade, Serbia, 1996, winner in the category Laureates of Orpheus
• Prize-winner at the International Petar Konjovic Competition (Belgrade, Serbia, 1997, 1st prize)
• Prize-winner at the  New Acropolis competition (Madrid, Spain, 1998, 1st prize)
• Prize-winner at the  Grand Konzerteum International Competition (Athens, Greece, 1999, 2nd prize; the 1st prize was not awarded to anyone)
• Recipient of the Special Prize for the best performance of a work by Chopin at the  Grand Konzerteum International Competition (Athens, Greece, 1999)
• Prize-winner at the Southern Highlands International Piano Competition (New South Wales, Australia, 2009, 1st prize and winner in all categories)

Milos Mihajlovic was born in 1978 in Nis, Serbia. In 1999 he graduated from the Faculty of Music of the University of Arts in Belgrade, and in 2005 he completed his post-graduate studies with honours. Milos Mihajlovic’s principal teacher was Professor Nevena Popovic. He has also collaborated with such outstanding pianists as Sergei Dorensky, Alexander Shtarkman and Michel Dalberto among others.

Milos Mihajlovic has performed in recital and together with orchestras at the major concert halls of Serbia (the Sava Centar Concert Hall, the Great Hall of the Ilija M Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade and the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts among others) as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Italy, Spain, Greece, Japan, Poland and Australia. The pianist has also participated at numerous international festivals including BEMUS (Belgrade, Serbia), the  NIMUS Festival (Nis, Serbia), the Belgrade International Contemporary Music Festival and the International Yuri Bashmet Festival in Yaroslavl among others. He has collaborated with many outstanding musicians and conductors including Uros Lajovic, Mladen Jagust, Carlos Alvarado, Angel surev, Dejan Savic, Darinka Matic Marovic, Anatolij Novicki and Biljana Radovanovic. On several occasions the musician has featured in recordings for radio and television.

Since June 2001 Milos Mihajlovic has taught at the Faculty of Music of the University of the Arts in Belgrade (piano department). In November 2005 he became a senior lecturer at the Faculty. He has also taught at the Academy of Arts of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
