Larisa Gogolevskaya was born in Arkhangelsk and studied at the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Iraida Levando). Larisa Gogolevskaya has been a Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 1991.

In 1999, role Larisa Gogolevskaya sang the part of Renata (The Fiery Angel) at La Scala (Milan), and in 2008 she appeared as Isolde in a new production of Tristan und Isolde at the Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall (Stage Director: Peter Sellars; Production Designer: Bill Viola).
