Jonathan Nott (born Solihull, England in 1963) is an English conductor.

Jonathan Nott became principal conductor of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in January 2000, and has regularly taken that orchestra on tour — to South America, Russia, the Edinburgh Festival, Japan, and most recently, to the United States. Mr. Nott made his conducting debut in 1988 at the Opera Festival in Battignano, Italy, and was appointed Kapellmeister at the Frankfurt Opera the following year. In 1991 he was appointed First Kapellmeister at the Hessian National Theater Wiesbaden, and went on to become interim chief music director for the 1995–96 season. During that time he conducted an extensive repertoire of opera, ballet, and concert works, including major pieces by Mozart, Verdi, and Puccini, as well as his first complete Wagner Ring Cycle. He leter became music director at the Lucerne Theatre, and principal conductor of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.

Jonathan Nott has been a guest conductor with many orchestras since the mid-1990s, among them the WDR Cologne, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Zurich Tonhalle, NDR Hamburg, NHK Symphony, Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw, London and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, and Orchestre de Paris. He has worked with the Berlin Philharmonic, with which he recorded several orchestral works of Gyцrgy Ligeti as part of the Teldec contribution to the complete recorded works of Ligeti. After several seasons as principal conductor of the Ensemble InterContemporain (EIC), Nott is currently the EIC‘s principal guest conductor. Highlights of his 2005–06 season include concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and tours of Spain and Japan with the Bamberger Symphony.
