Anna Netrebko – Peoples Artist of Russia, Recipient of the State Prize of Russia, prize-winner at the International and the All-Russian Competitions.
In 2005 Anna Netrebko received two prestigious Echo German classical music awards in the categories "Singer of the year" and "Album of the year" (for the recording Sempre Libera).

Born in Krasnodar. Studied at the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Novichenko). Made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in 1994 as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro).

Repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes: Lyudmila (Ruslan and Lyudmila; videodisc made in 1995 with Philips Classics), Xenia (Boris Godunov), Marfa (The Tsars Bride), Luisa (Betrothal in a Monastery), Natasha Rostova (War and Peace), Gerda (The Story of Kai and Gerda); Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Amina (La sonnambula), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Gilda (Rigoletto), Violetta (La traviata), Musetta, Mimм (La boheme), Antonia (Les contes dHoffmann), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Anna, Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Flower Maiden (Parsifal).

Anna Netrebko performs with the worlds leading conductors, among them Valery Gergiev, James Levine, Seiji Osawa, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Zubin Mehta, Colin Davis and Claudio Abbado.
Has toured with the Mariinsky Theatre to Finland (Mikkeli Festival), Germany (Schleswig-Holstein Festival), France, Israel, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, the USA (Metropolitan Opera) and Turkey.
Has performed at the worlds leading opera venues, among them the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and the Royal Festival Hall (London) with the Rotterdam Philharmonic in concert performances of Berlioz opera Benvenuto Cellini conducted by Valery Gergiev.
In 1999 – 2000 she took part in productions of Le nozze di Figaro, Betrothal in a Monastery, Idomeneo and La boheme with the San Francisco Opera. Has sung the role of Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Washington Opera. At the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in May 2000 and 2001, she sang works by Bach and Handel (Judas Maccabaeus). At the San Francisco Opera and Washington Opera she sang as Musetta (La boheme), Ilia (Idomeneo), Adina (Lelisir damore), Nannetta (Falstaff), Marfa (The Tsars Bride) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). The same year Anna Netrebko made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera (Natasha Rostova in the Mariinsky Theatre production of War and Peace). She has performed also this role, one of her finest, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Madrids Teatro Real, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and the Moscow Easter Festival. In 2002 Anna Netrebko made her Philadelphia Opera debut (Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi). In summer 2002, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), performing the same role at the opening of the season at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (London). In 2003 year she performed as Lucia in Donizettis Lucia di Lammermoor with the Los Angeles Opera. In February 2004 Anna Netrebko performed at the Vienna Opera Ball.

With Deutsche Grammophon she has recorded four CDs, the most recent being Russian Album together with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra.
