In 1992 she formed the St.- Petersburg Youth Chamber Choir and works as organist in St.-Petersburg's Roman Catholic Church.
Started conducting when she was 15 years old with performances of the religious music of Rakhmaninov and Tchaikovsky (Competition of the conservatory music college- 2 nd prize)
Yulia Khutoretskaya is an honorary member of the American Choir Conductors Association.
Most notable events in her life have been her concerts in the St.-Peterburg Philharmonic Hall, a joint concert tour of France with the Russo-French Symphony Orchestra, and concerts of Japan, the USA, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, UAE etc.
Has conducted the Russian premieres of works by such famous composers as Georgi Sviridov, Alfred Schnittke, Arvo Part, Leonid Desjatnikov and Rodion Shedrin.
Worked together with Sir George Sholty,Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Aschkenazy, Semen Bychkov, Maris Sirmais,Josef Wallnig, Montserrat Caballe, Emma Kirkby, Michael Chans and other stars of musical art. 
Many St.-Petersburg composers have dedicated their new compositions to her.
The St.-Petersburg newspaper "Smena" commented" she has that elusive quality of "charm"; the individual stamp of her style. It is not fashionable to be romantic these days; we use the word "vocation" rarely but it is the only word to use about Yulia Khutoretskaya."
