• Recipient of a diploma and special prize at the International Viñas Competition (Barcelona, 1999)
• Diploma recipient at the International Moniuszko Vocalists’ Competition (Warsaw, 2000) and the International Vocalists’ Competition in Geneva (2003)
Irma Gigolaty was born in Tbilisi. Graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 1998 (singing class of Professor S.V. Yegorova). Soloist with the Tbilisi State Paliashvili Theatre from 1997-2000. Completed her post-graduate studies at the Tbilisi Conservatoire in 2002.
Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers from 2000.
Joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2008.

In 2009 Irma Gigolaty took part in the VIII Moscow Easter Festival, during which she appeared in Yaroslavl as Corinna in a performance ofIl viaggio a Reims. She has toured to Finland, Japan, the UK, France, Estonia and the USA.
