Dim-witted
The Evgeny Panfilov Ballet is the brainchild
of Evgeny Panfilov who has distinguished himself and is known for his
constructive philosophic ideas, experimental search and the exceptionally
spectaculars choreographic language. Evgeny Panfilov started his company
in Perm, in 1987, which at the time was said
to be Russia’s first professional modern dance troupe, dancing
exhilarating and challenging choreography of its creator. Later the united
company united four dance companies created by Panfilov. In 2000, the
private company The Evgeny Panfilov Ballet, the recipient of the Golden
Mask Awards, got a status of a state regional establishment
of culture.

“Who pulls the strings in this odd theatre called life? Why
do we choose the road of illusions and disappointments, repeating
the same scenario? What unites us, what makes us fly in the
eternal circle of passions and then throws away as shatters... the
shatters of happiness — never attainable? Is it Fate?
Or our inner Fear? Is there a way to stay safe and overcome
the necessity to make the choice?”

production:
“The bravura accords of the Parisian ‘king of waltzes’
seem to be meant only for a refined ball party, but... Have
a look at the modern ball party — don’t forget to add some
humour. Its style is classical ‘craziness’ which follows us wherever
we go. The game is absurd and unpredictable but everyone
is so ridiculously optimistic!”
